This dude called from our telephone company, and wanted to email us some information.Him: So what’s your name?
Me: Alyssa.
Him: E-L-I-S-A?
Me: No, it’s A-L-Y-S-S-A.
Him: *laughs* You’ve tricked me then, because you said ‘Eeee’-lissa.
Ummm, no I didn’t. I DO know how to say my own name. Or maybe I just go around pronouncing it incorrectly, to “trick” people. Woohoo. What a rush. Ha ha, I tricked you! My name’s really pronounced ‘Uh’-lissa, not ‘Eeee’-lissa! You fell for it!

As much as you tried, you didn't trick me. :) Uh-lissa is the only way I've ever heard your name pronounced. Why doesn't your telephone company have your name spelled in your file somewhere? :)
Well, it was for our work telephone account, but still... :o)
